custom rush

I was approached with a request to create a silver pendant.

It was something I had never done before, but I accepted the work.

The client came with her own design, sketched in pen on a scrap of paper.

It was to be completed in a small wooden jewelry box, set with a steel key emblem.

I forged a small tool to carve the wax, and sculpted a tiny triquetra as the mold

It was pressed into clay, and the silver was poured as soon as I worked up the nerve.

From unwanted Jewelry came a personalized, custom piece with its own story.

To me, that’s a rush.
