shined up

While at a bonfire with friends, I noticed a pair of rusty tool heads lying in the grass,

with small branches jammed through them as replacement handles.

One was an axe head with minor rust pocks and aging,

the other was a much older cross peen hammer with severe rust bites.

Both were cleaned of rust, while maintaining the character of age

They were re-handled, rust-guarded, and monogrammed,

with a rustic iron binding hot-seated on the axe.
